Safety, Health & Cleanliness
At The Grand Childcare, children’s health, safety, and well-being guide everything we do. Our team follows consistent hygiene, cleaning, and safety routines to maintain a healthy environment for every child in our care.
Hygiene & cleanliness
Our Educators follow consistent hygiene and sanitizing routines throughout the day to help maintain a safe and healthy environment for all children.
Children and educators wash hands at key points throughout the day - before meals, after outdoor play, and after toileting.
Toys, surfaces, and shared materials are cleaned and sanitized routinely, with extra care given to items children place in their mouths.
Bibs, cloths, linens, and other washable items are laundered and sanitized regularly to support a clean and comfortable environment.
Careful and hygienic diapering and toileting procedures are followed consistently to protect the health of all children in our care.
Medication & medical care
We take the administration of medication and management of medical needs seriously. All procedures are followed carefully and documented according to our centre policies.
Meals & nutrition
We encourage healthy eating habits that support children’s growth, energy, and well-being. Mealtimes are calm, supervised, and respectful. Children are always encouraged, but never forced, to eat or drink.
Families provide a nutritious lunch, two healthy snacks, a drink, and a labelled reusable water bottle for their child each day.
Please avoid packing candy, chips, chocolate bars, or soft drinks. We ask that all food be ready-to-eat or reheatable.
Drop-off & pick-up safety
We take the safety of every child during drop-off and pick-up very seriously, requiring strict adherence to our consistent, careful, and enforced release procedures.
Active play & learning
At The Grand Childcare, children enjoy regular opportunities for active play that support movement, coordination, confidence, and social development without screens getting in the way.
Rain or shine, outdoor play is part of our daily routine. Families are asked to provide appropriate outdoor clothing, including waterproof coveralls for wet days.
Our centre is entirely screen-free, allowing children to focus on hands-on play, creative exploration, real-world connection, and meaningful learning experiences.
