What every program includes

Five Areas of Development

Every program at The Grand Childcare is thoughtfully designed to nurture all five areas of early childhood development and to encompass the holistic growth of a child.

Social & Emotional

Understanding feelings, managing emotions, and building relationships with others. Children learn to share, empathy, self-regulation, making friends, and following rules by circle time, turn-taking games, and guided conflict resolution.

Cognitive

The growth of a child's thinking, problem-solving, memory, and reasoning skills are developed. They learn to count, sort objects, understand cause and effect, and spatial awareness. They learn this by engaging in solving puzzles, building blocks, and hands-on science experiments.

Physical

The development of bodily control, muscle strength, and coordination by running, jumping, and balancing (gross motor); writing, cutting, and buttoning (fine motor). Children will engage in outdoor playground games and manipulating sensory playdough or beads.

Language and Literacy

The ability to communicate, understand language, and express thoughts through words and symbols. Children will develop vocabulary growth, engage in listening comprehension, speak clearly, and engage pre-reading skills by Interactive story time, singing songs, and practicing letter recognition.

Creative

The exploration of the world through imaginative expression, art, music, and movement by using self-expression, imagination, sensory appreciation, and original thinking. Children will engage in unstructured process painting, dramatic dress-up play, and dancing to music.
