Daily Life
We structure our days to ensure children feel entirely secure, relaxed, and empowered to explore. Each day unfolds with a thoughtful balance of imaginative free play, outdoor adventures, shared meals, restorative rest, interactive group time, and supportive, caring transitions.
How our days are shaped
At The Grand Childcare, we believe that children feel their most confident and curious when they know what to expect. Our daily schedule provides a warm, predictable rhythm that helps children settle in, build friendships, and feel truly at home. At the same time, we remain flexible especially for our youngest learners so that every child’s individual needs are always respected and met.
For our youngest children, no two days look exactly the same and that is exactly how it should be. Our Infant & Toddler routine is gentle and fully flexible, honouring each child's natural rhythm for sleeping, feeding, comfort, and play. Educators follow each child's cues closely, providing warmth and consistency so that little ones always feel safe and understood.
Our preschool-aged children thrive with a more structured daily rhythm. From a soft, relaxed arrival to circle time, phonics, outdoor exploration, creative arts, and rest the 3–5 day is designed to build independence, encourage curiosity, and gently prepare children for the excitement of kindergarten. Every transition is calm, every activity purposeful.

Hygiene & cleanliness
Here are a few practical things every family should know about how we run the day at The Grand Childcare.
Families may drop off until 9:30 AM. If you need a later drop-off, please notify us in advance so we can ensure a smooth transition for your child.
Pick-up generally begins around 4:00 PM. The centre closes at 6:00 PM. Please ensure your child is picked up on time each day.
We go outside every day, rain or shine. Please send your child with weather-appropriate clothing, including waterproof coveralls for wet days.
Our centre is 100% screen-free. Children spend their time on hands-on play, creative exploration, and meaningful real-world interactions.
A nutritious lunch, two healthy snacks, a labelled water bottle, and a change of clothing. All items should be clearly labelled with your child's name.
Every child adjusts at their own pace. Our educators take time to build a relationship with each child and family to make the transition as smooth and reassuring as possible.
